Pupils perform up to five concerts per year and have workshops with visiting tutors in the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays. Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of the pupil. They will be prepared for ABRSM exams and orchestral auditions should they wish to take them.
12 Oasby Music Group String Ensembles meet once a month on a Sunday and enjoy playing together. In 2017, our Minims ensemble won the Grantham and Colsterworth Music Festival trophies for large ensembles and our Cantabile Violin Quartet won the trophy for small instrumental ensemble and the overall trophy for best performance of the Grantham Music Festival for the 2nd year in a row.
"My young daughter has made exceptional progress on the violin with Laura. Recently, her playing was appraised by a professor of violin from a London music college who wrote that "she has been taught with great care and expertise." I would add: with dedication, kindness, patience and good humour."
"What an uplifting day - hearing all these wonderful, intelligent and focused children playing a great diversity of music at Oasby Music Group led by Laura Gardiner. Laura and I attended many Suzuki workshops and group lessons together back in Scotland when we were kids. She has absorbed all the greatest aspects of that experience and developed an incredible programme for these lucky next generation of children" - Nicola Benedetti, October 2017.
